Tesla Coil Mark III
I built this one as a birthday present for my late grandfather. After he passed away I inherited it back.
Measures:
- HV source: 7 kV, 30 mA ignition transformer (from a gas heating)
- Capacitor: rolled plastic foil type as above
- Spark gap:
made from a blown high power fuse (guess who blew it :-) )
- primary coil:
- copper wire (2 mm)
- diam.: 8 cm
- height: 4.5 cm
- turns: 6
- secondary coil:
- copper wire (0.3 mm)
- diam.: 3.5 cm
- turns: 450
- Terminal: 3 mm brass screw
Performance: ca. 5 cm long arcs, slight corona, perfect to
play with light bulbs (Plasma Ball).
